Children’s Day – November 14

Children’s day is special day for the children. Universally, Children’s Day is celebrated on 20th November, every year as declared by the United Nations in 1954
But in India it is celebrated on 14th November, because the date marks the birth anniversary of legendary freedom fighter and independent India’s first Prime Minister – Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru.

On 2016, the 14th of November falls on a Monday.

As a tribute to Nehru and his love for children, Children’s Day is celebrated on his birth date.

This day reminds to each and every one of us, to renew our commitment to the welfare of children and teach them to live by their Chacha Nehru’s quality and dream.

Kerala Piravi marks the birth of the state of Kerala. The state of Kerala was created on November 1, 1956. Therefore, November 1 is known as Kerala Piravi Dinam, which means “birthday of Kerala” in Malayalam. Malayalees around the world celebrate Kerala Piravi Dinam on November 1st. In our school, Kerala Piravi Dinam celebrations started with a speech in the morning assembly. All our young ladis came with kasavu saree & our boys with mund & shirt. There was also a quiz competition based on the arts and culture of Kerala, and social and general topics related to Kerala. We planted a coconut tree in our campus to show our responsibility about kera vriksham. Any how its was a very awesome day-.
